DAY 1 - 29th October - Brisbane to Adelaide

Today, meet your fellow travellers at Brisbane Airport for our flight to Adelaide. Upon arrival we will be transferred by air-conditioned coach to our home for the next five nights, the stylish Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets. This evening, relax and mingle with your fellow travellers at a group welcome dinner.

DAY 2 - 30th October - Barossa Valley

We explore the renowned Barossa Valley today on a premium guided experience, visiting three of its top wineries and sampling outstanding local produce. The day begins with a private tasting and tour at the historic Yalumba Winery, one of Australia’s most respected family-owned wineries. Next enjoy a four-course lunch at Maggie Beer’s Pheasant Farm Eatery, showcasing seasonal regional produce. This afternoon, free time in Tanunda offers the chance to wander and soak up the region’s relaxed charm before returning to Adelaide for an evening at leisure.

DAY 3 - 31st October - Adelaide Hills & Hahndorf

Enjoy a relaxed morning at leisure, with the option of taking a stroll through Adelaide Central Market before we journey through Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement. Hahndorf is known for its tree-lined streets, boutique shops, artisan galleries, and inviting cafés. There is time to explore at your own pace, enjoy the village atmosphere, or sample German-inspired fare made with local produce. We then continue to Beerenberg Farm, a family-run farm famous for its preserves and authentic country experience, before returning to Adelaide.

DAY 4 - 1st November - Adelaide Zoo & d'Arenberg Cube

Today begins with early access to Adelaide Zoo, giving you a rare opportunity to experience the zoo at its most peaceful. A highlight of the morning is spending time with the famous Giant Pandas, watching them as they begin their day - feeding and playing. Later we continue to the iconic d’Arenberg Cube, to discover its bold architecture and interactive, art-filled interiors surrounded by McLaren Vale vineyards. Enjoy a three-course lunch on site, taking in sweeping vineyard views before returning to Adelaide for a relaxed evening.

DAY 5 - 2nd November - Murray River Cruise

We travel to Mannum to the iconic Murray River, Australia’s longest river and a historic lifeline of early riverboat trade and inland travel. Step aboard the boutique Proud Mary and enjoy a relaxed lunch cruise as we glide through calm waterways lined with towering river red gums and native birdlife. Along the way, we take in the scenery and stories that reflect the river’s rich pioneering history. On the return to Adelaide, we stop at Melba's Chocolate Factory to sample handcrafted chocolates before arriving back in the city for an evening at leisure.

DAY 6 - 3rd November - Brisbane

Our Adelaide Hosted Holiday ends as we transfer to the airport for our return flight to Brisbane. Farewell your new friends as you head home, taking with you wonderful memories and a taste of South Australia’s finest food, wine, and scenery.

This relaxed Hosted Holiday is ideal for travellers seeking a balance of sightseeing, food and wine experiences, and free time. The pace is comfortable, with day touring by coach and minimal long-distance travel. It suits those who enjoy regional exploration without strenuous physical activity.

FITNESS LEVEL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


A low to moderate level of fitness is required. Walking tours in places like Hahndorf and Adelaide Central Market involve flat, paved surfaces. Winery visits and attractions require standing and short walks. Boarding the Proud Mary River Cruise may involve steps and uneven surfaces. Zoo visit includes walking between enclosures. Some venues may not have lifts or may include stairs. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.

Our experienced tour leaders are trained to accommodate a range of abilities within the group. However, if they believe that a particular activity may present a safety risk to you or others—or may impact the overall enjoyment of the group—they are authorised, in line with our Booking Conditions, to advise you to skip that activity. These decisions are never made lightly, and your wellbeing is always our priority.

Please note that if you are asked to sit out part of the tour, refunds are not provided, and any additional expenses incurred will be your responsibility.

TRAVEL INSURANCE


Travel insurance is a mandatory requirement for all Hosted Holidays. It’s important that you protect yourself in case of natural disasters, lost or delayed baggage and unforeseen medical expenses. We strongly recommend that the policy covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, repatriation and loss of luggage and personal effects.  Make sure you keep any receipts for anything you may wish to claim for on your return – i.e. medical receipts etc. Please make sure you bring a copy of your policy with you on tour. We recommend that you take out travel insurance at the time of paying your deposit.

  • Carry a small day kit (pain relief, motion sickness tablets, etc.)

LUGGAGE ALLOWANCE

Our Hosted Holidays baggage recommendation is one suitcase with a maximum weight of 23kg. You may also carry a small backpack or overnight bag as carry-on luggage.

Please keep in mind you will be required to manage your own luggage at times throughout the tour, so we recommend bringing luggage that is of a size and weight that you can comfortably handle.
