At Hosted Holidays, we want every guest to enjoy a safe, comfortable, and rewarding experience. This tour to Uluru is leisurely paced but does include some light physical activity. The base tour is approximately 5 hours and includes two short walks on flat surfaces. There is also a visit to Walpa Gorge, which involves walking on uneven ground and may not be suitable for those with mobility concerns. The Field of Light experience requires walking on a small incline over red dirt terrain, and the Sounds of Silence dinner is held outdoors. Guest should be comfortable walking short distances and navigating some uneven surfaces to fully enjoy all aspects of the tour.
Our experienced tour leaders are trained to accommodate a range of abilities within the group. However, if they believe that a particular activity may present a safety risk to you or others—or may impact the overall enjoyment of the group—they are authorised, in line with our Booking Conditions, to advise you to skip that activity. These decisions are never made lightly, and your wellbeing is always our priority.
Please note that if you are asked to sit out part of the tour, refunds are not provided, and any additional expenses incurred will be your responsibility.
Due to the current employee shortages in the Northern Territory and at Ayers Rock Resort some facilities and dining may not be available during your stay. Please be patient as they are doing the best possible to operate with the current demand for Australia domestic travel without their usual staffing numbers. You may experience a slower process with check-in and dining over this time; however, we do ask that you please be patient whilst they do the best possible to ensure you have a great stay.
It’s important that you protect yourself in case of unforeseen events, lost or delayed baggage. We strongly recommend that the policy covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.
If you lose any of your belongings while travelling, you may be required to obtain a police report. Make sure you keep any receipts for anything you may wish to claim for on your return – i.e., medical receipts, etc.
Uluru is a remote destination with limited medical services available. Basic medical care is provided at the Ayers Rock Medical Centre, which can assist with minor illnesses and emergencies. More serious medical cases may require evacuation to Alice Springs Hospital, located approximately 450 km away. Due to the remote nature of the region, guests are strongly advised to carry adequate travel insurance that covers medical treatment and emergency evacuation, and to bring any personal medications with them, along with copies of prescriptions.
